Supreme Court nixes open-book bar exam, attempts to allay concerns about proctoring software

Yesterday’s emailed letter from Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye to California law school deans about next week’s bar exam is here.  The letter rejects the deans’ requests that the exam be open book and be administered without remote proctoring software.

Attached to the Chief Justice’s letter is a September 25 letter to the chair of the State Bar’s board of trustees from the Supreme Court and a September 21 letter from the State Bar to ACLU attorneys.  Both concern the proctoring software.
